No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy
A No Show or Late Cancel appointment hurts you, your therapist, and another client who could have used your time slot. Therapy sessions are scheduled in advance and are a time reserved exclusively for you. We can only bill your insurance company for sessions if you are present.
When you cancel without adequate notice, we cannot fill this time slot by offering it to another current client, a client on the waitlist, or a client with a clinical emergency.
Without a cancellation fee policy, your therapist will lose money or the opportunity to schedule another client if you late-cancel or do not show up.
Our cancellation policy is this:
You can cancel or reschedule an appointment if you provide 24-hour notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to show up, you will be charged a $100 fee for LPC’s and $65 for Residents in Counseling. Insurance will not pay for late cancels or No-Show appointments. Our cancellation policy is not a penalty or a punishment. Most clients understand this. You will be charged the above fee when you miss or cancel an appointment without giving 24-hour advance notice. If an appointment is scheduled for 3:00 pm on a Tuesday, we must receive notice by 3:00 pm on Monday at the latest. *For Monday appointments, you need to cancel on Friday.

We will only waive this fee in the event of serious or contagious illness, extreme weather, or other unavoidable circumstances. If you are unsure, please get in touch with our office for further guidance. You should view your therapy appointments like you view any other medical appointment.
