Geoffrey Dill,

Resident in Counseling

Hi, I’m Geoffrey! I recently graduated with my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received my certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I’ve served as a student provider at a local counseling center for the last year, supporting teens and adults with a variety of mental health concerns. As a developing clinician, I am passionate about working with clients with eating disorders and disordered eating, poor body image and self-esteem, LGBTQIA+ needs, life transitions, grief, and trauma.

While I prioritize each client’s therapeutic goals as the focus of our sessions, the background of my clinical work involves developing self-compassion. I am a strong believer that self-judgment and shame cause tangible harms and that cultivating a more compassionate stance toward yourself is essential to mental wellness. I also pull from evidence-based treatments, such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and narrative therapy. Additionally, I am happy to incorporate faith and spirituality into sessions when requested.

Outside of sessions, you can find me reading (and always accepting new book recommendations!), going for a late-night jog and stargazing, listening to music, and spending time with good friends and family.
