Hi! My name is Maggie Guice, and I am a Resident in Counseling. I recently completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I have experience working with children, teenagers, and young adults experiencing concerns related to disordered eating and body image, sexuality and gender, relational trauma, identity, spiritual abuse, neurodivergence, and anxiety and depression.

My desire is to create a safe, welcoming, creative, and cozy environment where individuals feel heard, seen, accepted, and celebrated. I am passionate about the power and healing of sitting with individuals in their stories and suffering, curating a space to explore all aspects of their identity, challenges, and strengths freely, without judgment. I think that humans are gifted with the ability to think, feel, and find solutions that suit them well. I consider it an honor to walk alongside individuals as they work toward their goals and discover more about themselves.

I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also have experience with and am passionate about the use of play therapy with children! I enjoy curating a therapeutic experience that is unique to the client and incorporates creativity and artistic expression that suits each individual’s goals.

In my free time, I love spending time with my friends, family, and cat, Eloise. To relax, I love anything creative! I love to paint, go thrifting, discover new music and update my Letterboxd. Remaining physically active and spending time outside is restorative to me, and I enjoy lifting weights and finding all of the best hidden trails in Lynchburg.
