Emily Ellis, LPC, CEDS
Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been counseling others full-time since 2015 in a variety of different settings in Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana. Not only does she enjoy helping symptoms dissipate, she has a heart for perfectionism. She finds it especially important to help others learn to embrace what it means to be human: imperfect, flawed, and worthy of love and connection. Within this, she specializes in working with those struggling with eating disorders, discomfort with their body’s shame and appearance, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, and identity formation.
Emily utilizes a variety of techniques to balance day-to-day comfort while seeking to improve the root cause of your symptoms. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) and has been certified in Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT III) to help those struggling specifically with food, exercise, and their body image. With this, she is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a technique used to help limit the daily effects of past traumas on our routines and relationships.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys board games with her husband, walks with her dog, and puzzles on rainy days.
We are not our problems.
We are not our wounds.
We are not our sins.
We are persons of radical worth and unrevealed beauty.
